While doing some summer cleaning recently, I came across some old calendars that showed the day to day activities of my family’s life from years past. It is interesting to see where we have been, what changes have occurred, and where we are now. I particularly liked one Norman Vincent Peale calendar with various quotes on positive thinking. This late summer post will hopefully be one of inspiration, motivation, and optimism, all from Norman Vincent Peale.
“Select a few people to be particularly kindto today, those you were a little harsh with yesterday.”
“Every morning before arising, lie relaxed in bed and deliberately drop happy thoughts into your conscious mind.”
“When you actually learn to release the potential power of your mind, you will discover that it contains ideas of such creative valuethat you need not lack anything.”
“Go out today with the thought that an inner lightis shining out of you. People will notice and comment, “What an attractive personality!”
“Keep the positive principle going by visualizing energy and vitality continuously at work within you, refreshing body, mind, and spirit.”
“Remember Edison’s remark: “If we did all things we are capable of doing, we would literally astonish ourselves.” Astonish yourself!”
“How you think about a problem is more important than the problem itself-so always think positively.”
“When trying makes you stale, avert your mind, relax, break the strain. Ideas will start flowing again.”
“Joy increases as you give it, and diminishes as you try to keep it for yourself. In giving it you will accumulate a deposit of joy greater than you ever believed possible.”
